building independence one stride at a time

Eagle Sunrise Therapy is an outpatient pediatric Occupational Therapy practice, providing 1:1 services.

By integrating evidence-based therapeutic methods with outdoor experiences, we help children build confidence, develop essential life skills, and thrive in a natural, engaging environment.

Our approach nurtures overall development by strengthening the body, enhancing motor skills, improving emotional regulation and cognitive function.

Our sessions achieve this through a wide range of activities, including using the power of horse-based movement.

Clients are guaranteed to have a fun, engaging, goal-oriented session, leaving them feeling empowered and fulfilled.

  • What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy focuses on assisting each child and their families to develop skills and increase independence in a wide range of daily activities through individualized treatment plans. These activities could include self care routines, fine motor, visual motor, social-emotional regulation and engagement in leisure activities, to name a few. Occupation Therapy can help identify a child's strengths and promote areas of growth through activities that are meaningful and engaging for each individual child.

  • What is Hippotherapy?

Hippotherapy is a treatment tool used by occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists, where the natural movement of a horse is carefully guided to help improve a child's balance, strength, coordination, and overall body awareness. It’s important to know that hippotherapy is not about learning to ride or care for horses—it’s about using the horse’s movement as part of a therapy session to achieve important physical and sensory goals. At Eagle Sunrise, we combine hippotherapy with other proven occupational therapy techniques to create a fun, engaging, and effective therapeutic experience for children.

  • What is an Eagle Sunrise?

Eagle Sunrise was the offical name of Marissa's childhood horse. The practice was created to combine two passions; the love of helping kids and horses. The sunrise reminds us that every new day is an opportunity to grow. Plus, the use of equine movement makes therapy sessions so fun and motivating!
